  • Jeff Smith
    General Manager

    A Willmar native, Jeff has been in management since 1993 and joined Mills Ford Chrysler as service manager in September 2003. He is the father of three children, Jack, Lindsey and Nolan. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, working around the house, hunting and traveling.

  • Tom Schroepfer
    Sales Manager

    Tom's career in automotive began in 1988, and he joined Mills in March 1997. Tom was promoted to used car sales manager in November 2005, and then to his current position in 2013. When not at work Tom and his wife, Sue, married since 2002, enjoy being on the lake. Tom also tries to find time for hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends.

  • Derek Stovern
    Used Car Manager

    Derek joined Mills in 2015 after working three years in automotive sales in Redwood Falls and Hector. He is a graduate of Howard Lake-Waverly High School, attended Mankato State University and a graduate of the Continental Auctioneer School, Mankato.  A resident of Bird Island since 1996, Derek and his wife, Tami, have three children, Shelby, Brady and Abby. He is a member of the Bird Island Lions Club, youth baseball coach, baseball game public address announcer and a member of the Bird Island Economic Development Authority. Outside of work, Derek enjoys attending his children's volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, football games, and dance line performances.  He is also an Eagle Scout and a Boy Scout leader in Olivia.

  • Jason Darger
    Finance Manager

    Originally from Willmar and a graduate of Willmar High School, Jason joined Mills in December 2017. He was previously with Office Depot for 15 years where he oversaw daily store operations and trained store manager candidates for 14 stores across three states. Jason is a graduate of Ridgewater Technical College with a degree in wireless communications. He and his wife, Jessica, live in Willmar with their two children, Keelan, and Jayda. Jason is an avid motorcyclist. He attends numerous rallies and special events.

  • Sandi Nelson
    Service Manager

    With an automotive career that started in 2008, Sandi joined Mills in November 2017. She also was a business owner and substitute teacher in the Willmar School District. Sandi is originally from Montana and lives in Lake Lillian. She is a graduate of St. Cloud State University with a degree in education, and also has a master's degree. Sandi and her four children like to fish, hike and ride motorcycles. She also enjoys reading, gardening and remodeling her house.

  • Tom Holmquist
    Sales Consultant

    Tom has worked at the dealership since March of 1983. He started out cleaning cars then eventually was the manager of the Reconditioning Center. In November of 1998 he started his sales career. Tom and his wife Sue have a son Jayden. Tom enjoys fishing and golfing, but most of all spending time with his family.

  • Alroy Mahlum
    Sales Consultant

    With an automotive sales career that started in 1987, Alroy joined Mills in 2012 after working in Olivia, Granite Falls and Montevideo. He and his wife, Laura, have two daughters, Sofia, and Julie, and the family lives in Montevideo. Originally from Sacred Heart, Alroy is a graduate of Renville-Sacred Heart High School and was a student in sales/marketing at Granite Falls Technical College. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening, family outings and horses.

  • Michelle Jensen
    Sales Consultant

    Michelle joined Mills in 2017 after a 20-year career in law enforcement.  She is originally from Richmond, MN, a graduate of Rocori High School, Cold Spring, and St. Cloud State University with a degree in criminal justice.  A resident of Olivia since 1996, Michelle and her husband, Ryan, have two daughters, Maddison and McKenna.  Michelle is a longtime member of Cross of Calvary Lutheran Church, and is a member of the church council.  She enjoys attending her daughters' sports events, family camping trips, gardening and especially riding her Harley.

  • Jan Zuidema
    Sales Consultant

    Jan joined Mills in March 2018 after operating a 70-cow dairy farm near Willmar with his father and brothers. Jan and his wife, Jolene, have been married since 1993. They have four children ages 17 to 23, and now live in the same house that Jan grew up in. He is a graduate of Danube High School, and attended Northwestern College and Ridgewater College. Jan and Jolene also raise and show dairy goats, and raise Australian shepherd dogs.

  • Brent Kahout
    Shop Foreman

    Brent was promoted to the dealership's new position in July 2018. He joined Mills in 2002 as an oil change technician during his first year in the automotive technology program at Ridgewater College, Willmar. After graduating from Ridgewater in 2003, Brent moved to the main shop as a service technician. He is now a Senior Master Technician certified through Ford Motor Co. Before Ridgewater he was home-schooled from kindergarten through the 12th grade. He also worked at Seneca Foods, Glencoe, having started as a machinery operator and leaving as a field crew lead man. Brent was a welder at Beaver Creek Transport, and earned a CDL to drive truck there. A native of Olivia where he continues to live, Brent loves to travel, and enjoys hunting, fishing and trips on his Harley.

  • Richard Buddy
    Service Advisor

    A resident of Willmar since 1996, Rick joined Mills in November 2017 as a sales consultant, then became a service advisor in August 2018. He is originally from Benson, a 1989 graduate of Benson High School, and he studied natural resource technology at the former Brainerd Technical College, now Central Lakes College. Rick and his wife, Missy, live in Willmar. He has two sons, Dylan and Tanner, along with one dog and two cats. Rick is an avid outdoorsman, which includes hunting with "Cooper", his chocolate lab, along with fishing, and coaching Tanner's baseball team.

  • Matthew Wilde
    Service Advisor

    Matthew joined Mills in November 2018. He was previously with GEICO Insurance as auto damage adjuster, and Walmart as asset protection manager. Matthew is originally from Iowa, a graduate of Corwith Wesley Luverne High School and attended North Iowa Area Community College, Mason City, where he studied finance management and insurance. He lives in Pennock and enjoys family time, travel and finding good restaurants.
